Practicing pen, ink and charcoal sketches of Italian scenes (click through to gallery) in readiness for a bit of travelling – with the most complicated image then done in oils 75 x 50cm.
When I look at this one, I think “cricket” – I had the radio commentary of a New Zealand v South Africa test on (it’s a 7 hours x 5 day event) while I was painting (they don’t play cricket in Manarola, which seems reasonable).
