Farmhouse at Lake Tutira, Hawkes Bay

This scene is a farm cottage and woolshed at the southern end of Lake Tutira, north of Napier. The lake itself is famous for having an island that moves about (more a clump of trees) – recently it has been in ecological crisis as a result of colossal runoff during Cyclone Bola in 1988 added to farm fertiliser runoff for many years. We camped there occasionally over the years.

Sold at my “Contrasts” exhibition, 2014. Oils on canvas 12″x12″
