The water, hills and sunset over Bottle Creek from my house – this will have to stay here when we go. Unusually for me, I drew at least 50 cartoons of each of the 3 sections before starting, partly because sharp angles don’t work and partly to minimise cost (for example, red glass contains gold). Also, you can turn cut glass over for a different shape, so getting consistent angles front and back simplifies and saves $.
The 3 parts help it structurally and for removal without tears. It’s installed inside the window, partly to get double-glazing and partly because I wouldn’t trust it as wind or waterproof on a south-west facing wall in Wellington.
