Queenstown and Wanaka in the style of Hiroshige

Click through to see a slideshow of 3 Hiroshige-influenced Queenstown scenes, plus 3 of Wanaka and 1 of Aoraki/Lake Pukaki (meisho-e = scenes of famous places). I have tried to imagine how Hiroshige (1797-1858) may have shown these scenes if he was alive today.

5 originals (acrylics on stretched canvas 12″x12″) were sold by Exhibitions Gallery, Wellington at my June 2021 “In the style of Hiroshige” exhibition (1 retained, 1 sold at 2019 Craigs Aspiring Exhibition at Wanaka).

    1. You’re more likely to hoon around in a jetboat between the rocks! Enormous fun, lots of trust needed – there’s a small one down there in the river in the pic, much clearer in the original. Thanks Sharon
