This (gifted) stone was a conceptual challenge, being smallish and square. It would have suited the standard koru, frond, sphere/circle stuff – or yet another cartoon figure, but no, Im a serious artiste! – so it sat waiting for inspiration for a while. Eventually the semi-cubist sumo concept turned up from an idea for a cartoon drawing of 2 sumo hedgehogs squaring off. Since completing it, any further sculpting has been on hold due to tennis elbow. Must learn to be patient.
