Taranaki Gate

2 versions of a dairy farm gate near Pungarehu, Taranaki – sepia ink on paper and oils on canvasboard, both 12′ x 18″.

Yes, the trees and mail shed are a bit different in each – either my 2 minute sketch from the car (rainy day…) was just a rough starting point, or the farmers rebuilt the shed and replanted the trees between each version. Typical.

    1. haha! Will hold on to it, plus version#2 and the oil, in case the reason I painted them becomes relevant – its a long game, 60 years so far! Great feedback at the exhibition, perhaps I should do more. Will let you know
