Another well known South Island scene, roughly where the Rakaia River leaves the high country for the Canterbury Plains. Sold by Exhibitions Gallery, Wellington March 2019
Preparing for the local annual Mana Arts Trail this weekend, open studio so much of the deferred maintenance (finishing, taping, stringing, varnishing, etc), presentation and studio tidying has needed full-time attention. All good, but twitching a bit to get back to the painting/creating again next week.

Rakaia Gorge #1

What an amazing scene Alistair. I’m mesmerized by the color!
Thank you Sharon, its an epic view to get onto a smallish canvas for sure. Cheers
I marvel at this jewel-like landscape. The touches of blue especially caught me and I love the sense of openness.
Thanks Claudia, I like putting cerulean blue in shadowy areas, sort of darkens and highlights too for me. Cheers
